Artist’s Statement “Artwork inspired by inner feelings and emotions is called Expressionism. This method of creating art focuses on revealing passion and creativity, which has been the focus of my long career as a professional artist. Viewing abstract paintings is like listening to music – it evokes a response of the imagination, not the intellect. More specifically, my painting method can be compared to playing jazz…it is about improvisation and spontaneity, with no traditional boundaries.” Edith developed her free spirited approach to painting as an outlet from the precision required in her profession as a graphic designer  She is an award winning member of both the Newburyport and the Rockport Art Associations.
